Benbrook’s Par 3 Golf Course has always been known for its friendly atmosphere, but a recent moment on the greens reminded everyone why the course feels more like a neighborhood gathering place than a sports facility.
Michael, a longtime visitor, returned to the course where his late brother, John, scored a hole-in-one in 1998. The scorecard sits in the clubhouse’s hole-in-one book, a quiet reminder of a great day they shared.
Last week, Michael came back and played a round with Stewart, who also has a spot in that same book for his 2021 ace. Their reunion wasn’t about chasing records. It was about friendship, memory, and the kind of people you meet on a course that feels like home. The course says Michael may be next in line to join the book himself. And the good news kept coming. Just days earlier, another pair made their own mark when a grandfather and grandson each landed a hole in one during the same visit. One sank it on hole 15, the other on hole 5, creating a family moment that will be hard to top. Their photo is posted at https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1C1b98qzBD/.
Visitors dropping by in the evenings are treated to extras that make the course even more inviting. Popsicles are free, no matter how cold it gets, and hot chocolate or coffee is available for two dollars, complete with marshmallows for anyone who wants to warm up.
