The Benbrook High School Band is getting ready for another year of performances, competitions, and school spirit, with summer activities set to begin this month.
Band Registration Day is scheduled for Saturday, July 18, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Benbrook High School Band Hall. Students will pay fees, be fitted for uniforms, order marching shoes and gloves, and check out instruments.
Summer Band Camp begins July 13 with drumline and color guard camps, followed by full-band rehearsals through Aug. 7. Daily rehearsals run from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m., with a FanPledge fundraiser planned for July 24. Students must have a current physical before participating.
Band Director Marcus Bryant encourages freshmen to join, highlighting the friendships, leadership opportunities, and academic credit the program provides. The band also welcomes Emma Forrester as its new color guard technician.
The award-winning program enters the new season following multiple UIL First Division ratings, UIL Sweepstakes Awards, a Fort Worth Stock Show Parade championship, and numerous All-State honors. Parents are also encouraged to join the Benbrook Band Boosters, which supports students through fundraising and volunteer efforts.
The tentative 2026-27 calendar includes football games, marching contests, concerts, UIL events, honor band auditions, graduation, and a spring band trip. All rehearsals and performances are mandatory and graded.
