The Bobcats traveled to Waxahachie last night to take on the Mustangs of Life High School and put up a great fight before eventually falling to the Mustangs 24-28.
The loss marks the fifth straight for the Bobcats, who hope to reverse the trend next week when they play host to the Glen Rose Tigers. Breaking the losing streak won’t be easy, though, as Glen Rose will arrive in town sporting a 5-1 record bolstered by a sound drubbing of Venus last night 68-0.
Still, the Bobcats have a chance to make a statement next week and should be able to build on an improved defensive performance in last night’s game. The Tigers are expected to stack the box in an effort to slow Benbrook’s formidable ground game, which means the Bobcats will need to make a complete effort to compete well in all phases of the game. If they can do so, the Tigers may find themselves on the losing end.
