As temperatures continue climbing into summer territory, many Benbrook residents have noticed the local Dollar General occasionally closing its doors over the past several weeks. Now, shoppers finally have an answer.
Shortly after 3:30 p.m. Monday, Dollar General employee Kristine Lorenz shared an update with the community, confirming that the store’s air conditioning system has been repaired and operations have returned to normal.
“Hello, Benbrook!! I’m with Dollar General, and I just want to update everyone who’s been concerned. Our AC was fixed, and we are now back to business 100%. I do appreciate everyone’s patience, and I’m happy we can now go back to normal programming,” Lorenz wrote.
The update comes as many residents had been asking about the intermittent closures during a stretch of increasingly hot weather.
For shoppers who have been making extra trips or finding the store unexpectedly closed, the good news is simple: the AC is working, the doors are open, and it’s business as usual once again at Benbrook’s Dollar General.
