Fuego Burger Owner Assaulted, Recovering as Family Keeps Restaurant Running.

Carlos Rodriguez, owner of Benbrook’s popular Fuego Burger, is recovering after being assaulted inside his restaurant on May 13.

The incident happened at the Fuego Burger location on Benbrook Highway in west Fort Worth. Police have arrested 24-year-old Nehemiah Green of DeSoto, who is now facing a charge of assault causing bodily injury.

Rodriguez is expected to be away from work for two to three months while he recovers. In the meantime, his wife Christie and their son will continue running the restaurant. Known for its green chile cheeseburger, Fuego Burger has been a past finalist in the Star-Telegram’s “Burger Battle.”
