Anyone planning to attend a Fort Worth ISD Board meeting with a sign should review the district’s updated guidelines first.
According to the FWISD Chief of Staff, Dr. Louis Kushner, the Board announced changes to its sign policy during the June 17, 2026 Board Workshop. The updated guidelines were posted on the district’s Board Meeting webpage on June 11.
Under the new rules, signs are permitted inside the Board room if they meet specific requirements. Signs must be handheld, no larger than 11 by 17 inches, and cannot be attached to poles, sticks, or other supports.
The district also states that signs may not block views, obstruct aisles, entrances, exits, or safety equipment, create safety concerns, or disrupt the orderly conduct of a meeting. Signs that do not comply with the guidelines may be removed from the Board room.
The update comes as public participation and community engagement continue to be a focus at Board meetings across the district.
Residents can review the complete meeting guidelines on the Fort Worth ISD Board Meeting webpage.
