Summer in Benbrook is about to get a little more active.
From June 1 through June 3, the Benbrook Middle-High School soccer program will host its 1st Annual Summer Soccer Camp, giving young athletes across the community a chance to learn the game, build confidence, and make new friends.
Led by Kristin Martinez and the Benbrook Middle-High soccer team, the camp is open to students entering 1st through 9th grade and will take place on the stadium field.
The evening sessions are divided by age group: 1st through 4th graders meet from 5:30 to 7 p.m., while 5th through 9th graders train from 7:30 to 9 p.m. The cost is $50.
Campers will work on passing, strategy, technical skills, ball handling, game tactics, and mini games in a setting designed to help kids grow both on and off the field.
For many local families, summer camps like this offer more than extra practice time. They create opportunities for younger students to connect with older athletes, stay active during summer break, and be encouraged by players who already represent Benbrook on the field.
Registration and payment are available online.
