Chavez Adds Another Chapter to Lady Bobcat History.

Some players leave records behind. Others leave a standard. Benbrook senior Sydney Chavez has done both.

Chavez has been selected to play in the Texas Association of Soccer Coaches Senior All-Star Game to be held on May 9th, one of the state’s top honors for high school soccer seniors. The annual event brings together the best senior players across Texas for a showcase of talent, competition, and recognition, with athletes selected by region to represent their class.

It’s another milestone in a career that has already been one for the record books.

Earlier this year, Chavez committed to the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Arkansas, where she will continue her soccer career with the Lady Eagles. Before heading to the collegiate level, she leaves Benbrook as the Lady Bobcats’ all-time leading scorer, a mark built through years of consistency, leadership, and an ability to change a match in a moment.

Known for her relentless drive, sharp instincts, and steady presence on the field, Chavez became more than a scorer. She became the kind of player younger athletes watched closely, and teammates trusted fully.

Now, she gets one more stage before graduation on May 9th. The TASCO Senior All-Star Game is not just a celebration of talent, but a recognition of the work it took to get there.

For Chavez, it feels fitting. Another big game. Another chance to represent Benbrook well. And if her career so far says anything, she probably is not finished making history yet.
