Benbrook City Council to Tackle Equipment Sale, Street Repairs and Park Improvements.

Benbrook City Council will meet on Thursday, February 19, at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 911 Winscott Road, with several practical items on the agenda that touch public safety, roads, and parks.

Among the general items, council will consider a resolution declaring certain firefighting equipment as surplus and authorizing its sale to Tarrant County Emergency Services District No. 1. The move would allow the city to transfer equipment no longer needed locally while keeping it in public service.

Street maintenance is also front and center. Council will review proposed contracts with Texas Bit for 2026 street work, including paving and related improvements. For residents who have been closely monitoring road conditions, this is one of the more significant action items of the night.

Another key item is a proposed design contract with Freese and Nichols for improvements at Dutch Branch Park. The agreement would move forward with planning and engineering for upgrades at one of Benbrook’s most visited outdoor spaces.

The meeting will include citizen comments, limited to three minutes per speaker, both on agenda items and during the informal comment period. Council will also hold a work session on the city’s floodplain and stormwater management program, an issue affecting neighborhoods across the community.

All agenda items are subject to final action. Residents can view meeting documents and details at https://www.benbrook-tx.gov.
