A small aircraft went down Friday afternoon near Bourland Field in Cresson, prompting a rapid multi-agency emergency response and an air medical evacuation.
Parker County officials confirmed the crash around 2:40 p.m. near the 17000 block of U.S. Highway 377, southwest of Fort Worth. First responders arrived to find the plane down in a small creek near a runway, with the pilot trapped inside. Additional rescue resources were requested for an entrapment, and Air Evac Lifeteam was launched to the scene.
Rescue crews worked for more than an hour to free the pilot. Officials said the pilot was conscious and responsive during the rescue. Once extricated, patient care was transferred to Air Evac Lifeteam 69, which flew the pilot to Harris Hospital in Fort Worth for treatment.
The cause of the crash has not been confirmed. The Federal Aviation Administration has been notified and is investigating. This remains a developing story, and more information will be shared as it becomes available.
