Western Hills Cadets Close Veterans Week with a Powerful Tribute.

Western Hills High School wrapped up Veterans Day Week with a proud moment on November 14, as four cadets stepped forward to present the Nation’s Colors at the Roll Call Veterans Luncheon hosted by the 136th Airlift Wing at the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base.

Their presentation opened the ceremony, followed by a blessing from the Air National Guard Chaplain, creating a meaningful start to a gathering that included veterans from World War II, Korea, and Vietnam.

The Color Guard team featured Cadets Nemganga Muya, Amalie Angeles, DeVonne Gould, and Karina Ramos. It was a milestone day for Cadet Angeles, who commanded a Color Guard for the first time, and a proud moment for Cadet Muya, recognized for mentoring the team with steady leadership.

For these student leaders, the event was more than a formal duty. It was a chance to honor generations who served before them while representing Western Hills with dignity and pride.
