Tiner Addresses Resident Concerns Over Trinity Park Estates Development.

With Benbrook’s November election days away, residents are raising questions about growth, flooding, and development across the city.

One topic generating discussion is the ongoing project behind Trinity Park Estates, where some residents have voiced concerns about the loss of open land and recurring flooding in nearby areas.

City Council candidate Keith Tiner, who is running for Place 7, responded thoughtfully, acknowledging both the personal connection many have to the area and the realities of urban growth. Tiner reflected on how development has transformed familiar landscapes across North Texas, including Benbrook, where open fields once used for recreation have gradually given way to neighborhoods and businesses.

He explained that while he shares residents’ appreciation for green spaces, development must be evaluated through the city’s Comprehensive Plan and within the bounds of existing zoning laws. The land behind Trinity Park Estates was rezoned decades ago, allowing for its current use.

Still, Tiner emphasized that the city has a responsibility to manage growth responsibly, ensuring safety and infrastructure remain priorities—particularly when it comes to issues like street flooding and water outflow maintenance.

As the election approaches, Tiner’s response reflects a broader conversation happening across Benbrook: how to balance progress with preservation while maintaining the character, safety, and quality of life residents value most.
