TCEQ to Investigate South Benbrook Air Quality Concerns.

Benbrook residents concerned about dust and emissions tied to South Benbrook development have caught the attention of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).

According to correspondence received by some neighbors, investigators are scheduling site visits and requesting written statements from residents documenting how air quality issues have affected their homes and daily lives.

One email shared by a resident outlines that the investigation is set for September 25, 2025, beginning at 9 a.m. Inspectors plan to assess conditions firsthand while also interviewing property owners. Residents who received the notice were asked to complete signed statements, which TCEQ requires to formally cite nuisance violations.

Not everyone in the neighborhood has received the same notice, which has fueled questions about transparency and consistency in the process. Some residents expressed frustration that despite submitting letters, photos, and videos, they had yet to be contacted by the agency. Others pledged to share forms and encourage more neighbors to request visits from investigators on the scheduled day.

Underlying these concerns is skepticism about whether the inspection will capture the true scope of the dust problem. Some fear that conditions could be downplayed during the visit, given the potential financial interests tied to the development. Still, residents remain united in their call for accountability, urging officials to test fill dirt and ensure long-term safety for those living nearby.
