Parents and teachers looking for ways to speak up about what is happening inside Fort Worth ISD classrooms will soon have more opportunities to organize together.
FORT, Families Organized & Responding to Takeover, plans to host two meetings each month where families and educators can share campus concerns, get help determining who to contact and discuss practical ways to advocate for students and support teachers.
The meetings will also help parents organize at their individual campuses and learn how to participate in FWISD school board meetings, including how to register to speak and prepare a three-minute public comment.
The next meetings are Sept. 14 and Sept. 28 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at The Parenting Center, 2928 W. Fifth St. in Fort Worth.
