BENBROOK, TX – Raymond Allan Roades, beloved husband, friend, and lifelong entertainer, passed away on August 26, 2025, in Weatherford, Texas, with his wife by his side. Known for his quick wit, love of music, and passion for sports, Allan lived life with joy and humor that touched everyone who knew him.
From delivering unforgettable punchlines to strumming his guitar and singing with heart, Allan’s presence was as vibrant as the sound of his favorite chords. He was equally at home on the bowling lanes, baseball diamond, or sharing a laugh among friends, always leaving memories worth retelling.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road, Benbrook. Following the service, friends and family are invited to gather for sandwiches and stories at the Benbrook Community Center YMCA, 1899 Winscott Road, Studio B. Guests are encouraged to wear red or represent their favorite baseball team—though Allan’s well-known rivalry with the Cubs means that jersey might be better left at home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Benbrook Youth Baseball and Softball Association, with notes in memory of Allan Roades.
