For a group of local kids, Parent’s Night Out at the Benbrook Community Center YMCA turned into an evening they won’t soon forget.
While parents enjoyed a night off, children spent Saturday learning about some of the people who help keep Benbrook safe every day. The highlight of the evening came when members of the Benbrook Fire Department stopped by with a fire truck, giving kids a chance to climb aboard, ask questions, and get an up-close look at life as a firefighter.
YMCA leaders said the event gave children a fun and memorable way to learn about community service while meeting real-life hometown heroes.
The Benbrook Fire Department shared that firefighters enjoyed the opportunity just as much, thanking the YMCA for inviting them and for providing programs that serve local families.
Moments like these do more than entertain. They help children connect with the people behind the uniforms and gain a deeper appreciation for those who serve the community every day.
The YMCA’s next Parents’ Night Out is already on the horizon, but this week’s event set a high bar with sirens, smiles, and plenty of inspiration along the way.
