Western Hills Lady Cougars Powerlifting Dominates at Regionals—Two Headed to State!

SHERMAN, TX – The Western Hills Lady Cougars Powerlifting team hit the road for the Regional Powerlifting Competition and came back with champions in tow! These fierce competitors showed up locked in, focused, and ready to dominate.

Leading the charge were Kateline Reygadas and Abby Moilan, who both claimed regional titles and officially punched their tickets to the State Championship to be held in Edinburg, Texas, on March 13th! Amali Angeles also competed.

Katelin Reygadas finished first in her weight category with a 715 pound overall total (285lb Squat, 135lb Bench, 295lb Deadlift). Not only did she finish first in her weight class she had the BEST overall squat and was the second strongest lifter at the meet.

Abby Moilan took first place in her weight class with a DOMINATING 875 total Squatting 365, benching 150 and finishing with a 360 Deadlift.

Amali Angeles finished 7th in her weight class with a 615 pound total (she actually tied for 6th place, but lost out to the tie breaker).

If Abby’s name rings a bell, that’s because she was previously named Athlete of the Week earlier this school year—proving she’s a force to be reckoned with.

A huge shoutout to Coach Rock for guiding these athletes to success. Best of luck at State, Lady Cougars—keep lifting Western Hills to new heights! 💪🏆
