Western Hills Cougars Soccer Playoff Hopes End, Falling Castleberry.

The Western Hills Lady Cougars’ postseason run came to an early end on Friday as they fell 2-0 to the Castleberry Lady Lions in the first round of the playoffs. The loss extends a tough streak against Castleberry, marking the seventh straight defeat in their matchups.

Despite the setback, the Lady Cougars wrapped up the season with a 9-13 overall record and a 9-5 district finish, securing third place in the standings and a well-earned playoff berth.

The Western Hills boys soccer team also faced a tough challenge in the playoffs, going up against the Castleberry Lions in the UIL Texas Boys Soccer State Championships. The Cougars struggled to find their rhythm and fell 5-0, bringing their season to a close with a 9-10-2 record and an 8-6 district finish, placing fourth overall.

Though the playoff road ended early, both teams put in the work to earn a shot at the postseason. With the offseason ahead, the focus now shifts to building for a stronger run next year. Well done, Cougars, on a hard-fought season!
