Western Hills Athletics Opens Full Summer Training Schedule for Cougar Students.

Summer break may be around the corner, but Western Hills athletes are already getting ready for the next season.

Western Hills High School has released its 2026 Cougar Athletics summer workout schedule, offering students entering grades 7 through 12 a chance to stay active, sharpen skills, and train alongside teammates throughout the summer months.

The program runs from May 26 through July 23 and includes free strength and conditioning sessions Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Student athletes must have a physical on file to participate. Contact Blake.Moilan@fwisd.org for more information.

In addition to conditioning, several sports programs will host open gyms, open fields, and skill sessions throughout the summer.

From May 26 through July 23, football workouts run Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the football field. Contact Blake.Moilan@fwisd.org for more information.

From May 26 through July 23, baseball also meets Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the field house. Contact Ryan.Swinney@fwisd.org for more information.

From May 26 through July 23, volleyball open gym sessions are scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. inside the gym. Contact Rheagan.Whitefield@fwisd.org for more information.

From May 26 through July 23, basketball workouts take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Contact Justin.Harrison@fwisd.org for more information.

Boys soccer meets Tuesdays through Thursdays from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the soccer field beginning June 9 through July 23. Contact Matt.Collins@fwisd.org for more information.

From June 10 through July 23, girls’ soccer and softball workouts will run on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

From June 10 through July 23, tennis players will also have open-court opportunities beginning at 6 p.m. on June 10, with practice days still to be announced. Contact Micahel.Sanks@fwisd.org for more information.

The school says breakfast and lunch meals will also be available during the month of June for participating students.

For many athletes, summer workouts are where team chemistry, discipline, and momentum quietly begin long before the first game.
