Election season has arrived in Benbrook, and this year’s ballot is shaping up to be one of the city’s most talked-about. Voters will head to the polls on November 4, with early voting running from October 20 through October 31, to decide who will represent three open seats on the city council.
Three community-minded candidates—Ryan Reagan, Sean Moore, and Derrick Varnell—are stepping forward to bring new energy and accountability to Benbrook’s leadership. Each has a track record of service and a shared passion for protecting the city’s future.
Ryan Reagan, Place 3
Reagan, known for his role in the Save Mary’s Creek movement, spent countless hours researching city processes and helping neighbors understand how decisions impact their community. His focus is on transparency, honesty, and ensuring residents have a voice in local government.
Sean Moore, Place 5
Moore, an Army veteran and family man, believes in standing up for what’s right. His leadership during the Save Mary’s Creek effort rallied hundreds of residents to take part in city discussions. On the council, Moore hopes to continue advocating for families and keeping Benbrook a safe, thriving place to live.
Derrick Varnell, Place 7
Varnell, a finance professional with deep roots in community service, brings a long-term perspective on fiscal responsibility. He emphasizes the need for smart financial planning as Benbrook’s growth slows, aiming to secure sustainable funding and strengthen the city’s economic stability.
