A major accident brought traffic to a standstill Thursday evening just south of Benbrook, shutting down all lanes of FM 1187 near Winscott Plover Road.
Multiple emergency crews responded to the scene around 6 p.m., including Cresson Fire, Benbrook Fire and EMS, and the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office. The crash involved entrapment, and crews were working to free those inside the vehicles. CareFlite Air was placed on standby as a precaution.
If you’re heading that way, find another route. Every direction is blocked, and there’s no word yet on how long the closure will last. Crews are doing what they can as quickly as possible, but tonight, safety takes priority over speed.
The road is back open in both directions as of 8:30 pm.
