Friday morning commuters on I-20 near Forest Hill faced a major traffic standstill after a long-bed semi dump truck snagged a power line, bringing it down across all lanes.
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) confirmed the incident on X at 7:10 a.m. and warned drivers to find alternate routes. The power line collapse forced a complete halt in all directions, impacting highways, frontage roads, and side streets. Initial reports suggest a truck’s power take-off malfunction may have caused the accident.
By 7:35 a.m., crews had cleared the scene, and traffic was moving again. As of 10:30 a.m., road conditions were back to normal.
