Lady Cougars Closes Basketball Season Fighting to the Final Buzzer.

It all came down to one final night for the Western Hills Lady Cougars.

After celebrating their seniors with a home victory over Diamond Hill Jarvis, the Lady Cougars entered the season finale at 3 20 overall and 2 9 in district play. The challenge ahead was steep. Southwest had already handed them a tough 52 12 loss earlier in the year.

Still, Western Hills showed up ready to compete.

For four quarters, the Lady Cougars battled on both ends of the floor, but Southwest’s size, speed, and discipline proved too much. The Lady Raiders pulled away for a 67 23 win, marking the third straight loss to Southwest.

The defeat closes the Lady Cougars’ season at 3 21 overall and 2 10 in district, finishing sixth. While the wins were hard to come by this year, the effort never wavered. Through a long season, these young women kept showing up, practicing, competing, and representing their school with pride.
