Three-vehicle crash blocks westbound Loop 820 in Benbrook.

A Thursday morning commute was slowed after a three-vehicle crash shut down most of the westbound Loop 820 in Benbrook.

According to CrimeRadar.app, the crash was reported just before 9 a.m. on Thursday, July 2, about three-quarters of a mile east of the Winscott Road exit. Witnesses reported the crash involved two SUVs and one passenger car.

Police, firefighters, and EMS responded to the scene, where a man and a woman were being treated for injuries. Most westbound lanes were blocked as emergency crews worked the scene and investigators began determining the cause of the crash.

Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area and use alternate routes until the roadway is cleared.
