FORT WORTH, TX – Three candidates are in the running for the District 7 seat on the Tarrant County College (TCC) Board of Trustees, with voters set to decide on May 3. The election will determine who represents southwest Fort Worth, Benbrook, and the area around TCU.
The candidates include Hunter Crow, a University of Texas at Arlington librarian; Veronica Chavez Law, a commercial real estate and business attorney; and Cary Cheshire, vice chair of the Tarrant County Republican Party. Each brings a distinct platform, focusing on areas such as vocational education, fiscal responsibility, infrastructure, and workforce training.
The TCC Board oversees policy, budgeting, staffing, and development for the six-campus community college system, which serves nearly 47,500 students and operates on a $421 million budget.
A candidate forum hosted by the Fort Worth Report will be held on April 17 at Texas Wesleyan University, where contenders will discuss their platforms.
