Tarrant County College (TCC) has been awarded a $280,000 Texas Reskilling and Upskilling through Education (TRUE) grant to enhance four healthcare programs offered at its Opportunity Center in Fort Worth.
This funding, provided by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, will support the college’s mission to address workforce demands and improve patient care in underserved communities across Tarrant County.
The grant will expand entry-level certification programs for Electrocardiogram Technicians, Phlebotomy Technicians, Patient Care Technicians, and Pharmacy Technicians. The Opportunity Center will also offer foundational courses in medical terminology and plan to launch a Medical Assistant program soon.
With nearly 60 years of service, TCC remains a major economic force in the Dallas-Fort Worth region. It boasts some of the lowest tuition rates among Texas’ top community colleges and offers diverse opportunities, including associate degrees, workforce development, technical training, and customized business programs, across its six campuses and online.
