Fort Worth and surrounding communities will come together for the 15th Annual Community Kwanzaa Celebration, a free, family-friendly event highlighting the beauty and significance of African heritage.
Kwanzaa, observed annually from December 26 to January 1, is a cultural celebration honoring African American history, values, and traditions. This year’s events, hosted at The Dock Bookshop, promise vibrant days filled with music, storytelling, performances, and thought-provoking speakers.
Attendees will also experience the traditional candle-lighting ceremony, a central element of Kwanzaa that symbolizes its seven principles: unity, self-determination, collective work, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity, and faith.
Whether you are well-versed in Kwanzaa traditions or are exploring the observance for the first time, these events provide an inviting and enriching opportunity to connect with others and celebrate community.
