FORT WORTH, Texas — Texas Christian University (TCU) has revealed its bold 10-year strategic plan, “LEAD ON: Values in Action,” developed with input from over 10,000 community members.
The comprehensive roadmap outlines 44 initiatives across four key pillars: community engagement, growth, athletics, and research enhancement.
Key Highlights of the Plan
- Enrollment Growth: TCU aims to expand its student body to 14,900 undergraduates and 3,000 graduate students by 2035, adding 3% annually. To support this growth, new dorms and academic buildings will be built, and an additional 500 faculty members will be hired to maintain a 14:1 student-to-faculty ratio.
- Campus Expansion: Plans include constructing 25 buildings, transforming West Berry Street into a vibrant hub, and fostering stronger ties with the surrounding community.
- Research Advancement: TCU is striving for R1 classification, the pinnacle of research university status, by increasing its research budget and doctoral degree awards.
- Athletics Investment: The university seeks to strengthen its athletics programs with new facilities, such as an Olympic-level tennis center and a $50 million Athletics Human Performance Center, while boosting attendance at women’s sports events.
- Community Integration: A new office of corporate partnerships and initiatives to encourage student community engagement aim to position TCU as a cultural and economic hub for Fort Worth.
