A serious accident occurred this afternoon on US HWY 377 South at Hawkins Home Blvd, just north of Benbrook, near the Shell gas station.
The incident involving four cars and a semi-truck detached from its trailer has caused significant traffic backups. Reports indicate that traffic is stalled as far back as Tiger Trail, with both directions of the highway facing heavy delay, mostly northbound traffic at a crawl. Emergency crews are on-site working to clear the scene.
As the situation continues to unfold, drivers are encouraged to take alternate routes, such as 1187 to Aledo Iona Road, to get back to Benbrook.
This semi-truck accident comes just one day after another serious crash that occurred south of Crowley near Plover.
