Mahjong Keeps Growing in Benbrook.

The Mahjong tables are getting busier around Benbrook, and newcomers are quickly getting in on the fun.

Players recently packed more full tables than ever at the Benbrook Senior Center, where Karen Henderson from Benbrook Tea and Wellness joined the group, and local Kim celebrated her first Mahjong. Another gathering welcomed newcomer Kelly, while Pam picked up her first-ever Mahjong with a 13579 hand.

And apparently ChuLinda has been winning often enough to put the group’s trinket supply in danger.

The games continue throughout the week, with free play at the Benbrook Senior Center and adult open play Tuesdays at Benbrook Tea and Wellness. Players also occasionally organize additional games around town.

Experienced players or those still wondering what a Charleston, joker, or blind pass is, newcomers are welcome to pull up a chair and learn.
