Lady Bobcats Soccer Open District Play with Statement Win.

Cold winds swept across the field Thursday night, but the Benbrook Lady Bobcats showed no signs of slowing down.

In their soccer district opener, the Lady Bobcats turned a frigid evening into a dominant performance, rolling past the Diamond Hill Jarvis Lady Eagles 9-0.

Coming in with a 5-3-1 record and clear goals for the season, Benbrook wasted little time setting the tone. Senior forward Sydney Chavez led the charge with four goals, continuing a strong season that recently earned her a college commitment to the University of the Ozarks.

The offense stayed balanced throughout the night. Lexi Garcia added two goals and an assist, while Randee Slater, Jessica Anzaldua, and Samantha Gloria each found the back of the net. Slater, Gloria, Katelyn Chaparro, and Zoe Clark also contributed assists as the Lady Bobcats kept pressure on from start to finish.

The win moves Benbrook to 6-3-1 overall and 1-0 in district play. There is little time to enjoy it, though.

The Lady Bobcats are back on the road tonight, facing Southwest with a kickoff set for 4 pm. The mission remains clear, and district play is officially underway.
