Benbrook residents racing to get Christmas gifts in the mail are running out of time. The Postal Service has released its cutoffs for on-time holiday delivery, and the window is closing fast.
Packages sent through standard mail services need to be shipped by Wednesday to have a strong chance of arriving before Christmas. Priority Mail buys a little more time, giving senders until December 18. Priority Mail Express Two stretches the deadline to December 20.
These dates are still estimates, and postal officials remind customers that earlier is always better, especially with national volume rising each day. Anyone mailing gifts outside the continental United States should plan for an extra day or two.
