From Benbrook Native to City Council Candidate: Whitney Hughes.

Whitney Hughes is running for Benbrook City Council for the first time, seeking Place 6 with deep roots in the community she hopes to represent.

Hughes was born in Benbrook in 1988 and says she has spent most of her life in and around the city. She attended Leonard Middle School, graduated from Western Hills High School in 2006 and later earned a degree in Communication Studies from the University of North Texas.

Today, Hughes and her husband, Sam, are raising their son in Benbrook, where she describes herself as a “proud BASIS Benbrook mom.”

Her campaign centers on responsible development and spending, giving residents a voice in city decisions and protecting Benbrook’s quality of life. Hughes says she wants to lead with “honesty, integrity, and transparency.”

Hughes is campaigning alongside Place 4 candidate Greg Clem under the One Benbrook banner.
