Benbrook residents should brace for a sharp drop in temperatures early next week, as the National Weather Service has issued a freeze watch for much of North and Central Texas.

The cold front is expected to arrive Sunday morning, bringing gusty winds up to 30 miles per hour and overnight lows dipping into the mid-20s.

The chill will settle in between 9 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. Tuesday, with temperatures possibly falling as low as 26ยฐF. Homeowners are encouraged to protect outdoor plants, cover exposed faucets, and bring pets indoors.

It will be a cold start to the week, so plan ahead for frosty conditions during the morning commute and give yourself extra time on the roads.
