FIFA FanFest Gear Finds New Home at Western Hills.

Soccer equipment used during FIFA FanFest festivities in Dallas is getting a second life closer to home at Western Hills High School.

The Welman Project helped recover soccer goals and rebounders after the event, then connected the equipment with Western Hills, where girls soccer coach Joe Ayala will use it with the Lady Cougars.

Instead of being discarded after a major international soccer event, the equipment will now help local student-athletes train and develop their game.

The donation adds another boost for Western Hills girls soccer and the community supporting the program, including bringing awareness to the Cougar Pride Alliance.

And who knows? Maybe one of those goals will someday be part of the journey from Western Hills to the NWSL.
