The Western Hills Cougars faced a tough night on the field Friday, falling 45-7 to the Community Braves. It marked the second straight loss for the Cougars, echoing a similar result from their matchup against Community last season.
While the scoreboard told a harsh story, there was a bright spot in sophomore Warren Carter. The underclassman put together an impressive performance, rushing for 93 yards and scoring the teamโs only touchdown on just six carries.
The loss drops Western Hills to 1-2 on the season. The Cougars now turn their attention to a road test against Eastern Hills this Friday at 7:30 p.m. The Highlanders enter the matchup riding momentum after an overtime win over the Benbrook Bobcats.
For fans, this weekโs contest offers a chance to see if the Cougars can rebound and put Carterโs spark to work in pursuit of a much-needed victory.
