Western Hills Cougars basketball fans finally have something to cheer about. After a 0-7 start to the season, the Cougars are showing signs of life and confidence as tournament play heats up.
Their weekend opened with a tough 58-26 loss to Fort Worth Country Day, a reminder of the early-season struggles that have followed them. But the script flipped fast. The Cougars regrouped and outplayed Life Oak Cliff to grab their first win of the year.
With a spark finally lit, Western Hills kept rolling. They returned to the court to take on a strong Conrad squad and stunned the field with a second straight win. That victory pushed the Cougars to 2-7 overall and 2-1 in tournament play, wrapping up a good tournament performance.
The Cougars head back into regular-season action with a home game against Paschal on Tuesday, December 9, at 7:30 p.m.
