Benbrook City Council Place 5 candidate Sean Moore is highlighting one of the city’s hidden strengths—its residents.
With a large number of engineers and retired professionals living in the community, Moore says Benbrook has a wealth of knowledge that should play a greater role in shaping local decisions.
At a recent campaign gathering hosted by residents of Trinity Estates, Moore, along with fellow candidates Ryan Reagan and Derrick Varnell, met several residents with engineering backgrounds who plan to apply for seats on the Planning and Zoning Commission.
The experience, Moore said, underscored the value of having citizens with professional expertise guiding complex city matters.
Reflecting on past debates like the Save Mary’s Creek effort, Moore believes that technical insight from residents could help prevent costly or contentious planning outcomes in the future. If elected, he pledges to prioritize local talent and give subject-matter experts a stronger voice in city governance.
