
A familiar Western Hills name is celebrating a major milestone.

The cheers echoed across Dickies Arena as the Benbrook Middle-High School Class of 2026 took one final walk together before heading in a hundred different directions.

Former Western Hills tennis standout Roy Castellanos has reached an impressive milestone, graduating from the United States Air Force Academy on May 28 and earning his commission as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force.

Fifteen years ago, Chick-fil-A Benbrook opened its doors and began serving chicken sandwiches, waffle fries, and sweet tea to a growing community. Somewhere along the way, it also became part of countless family routines, post-game meals, and everyday moments around town.

Rain washed out much of Memorial Day weekend across North Texas, but it did not stop the people of Benbrook from showing up Monday morning to honor those who never made it home.

Three decades after walking the halls of Western Hills High School together, the Class of 1996 is preparing to reconnect for a night of memories, music, and familiar faces.

Memorial Day is more than the start of summer. It is a day to remember the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country and in protecting the freedoms we enjoy every day.

The 2025โ2026 school year officially came to a close at Benbrook Middle-High School, and for the Class of 2026, the final days on campus were filled with a little fun, a little reflection, and one last sunset together.

The final classroom cleanout of the school year carried a little more emotion than usual at Western Hills High School.
