The Benbrook Youth Baseball and Softball Association (BYBSA) is stepping up to help neighbors in need by hosting a community food drive during a time when many families are feeling the strain of the ongoing government shutdown.
Donations collected will go to Altamesa Church of Christ for distribution through Neighborhood Needs, a nonprofit that provides groceries and essentials to those facing food insecurity in Fort Worth.
Residents can drop off nonperishable food items at Dutch Branch Park on November 12 and 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. Requested items include peanut butter, rice, beans, canned vegetables, pasta, sauce, stuffing mix, and instant mashed potatoes.
All donations are due by Saturday, November 15. Every can, box, or bag donated helps make a difference for local families.
