Friday’s power outage across Benbrook forced another community gathering spot to temporarily shut its doors as the YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth announced the closure of the Benbrook Community Center YMCA.
The facility said it will remain closed until power is restored and staff can safely reopen the building. Updates on reopening plans are expected throughout the day as crews continue working to restore electricity across affected neighborhoods.
The closure comes as thousands of residents across Benbrook dealt with outages Friday afternoon following a reported life-threatening accident in the area.
YMCA officials encouraged residents to continue following the center’s updates for the latest information and thanked the community for its patience during the outage.
