Benbrook welcomed the season with one of its most cherished traditions as families and visitors gathered at Dutch Branch Park for the annual Christmas Tree Lighting and fireworks show. If you missed it, you missed one of the highlights of living in this community.

The celebration felt like a holiday postcard. Families lined up for photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, with each $5 donation supporting the Spirit of Christmas program. This long-standing Benbrook effort partners with school counselors to help local families during the holidays.

As the sun dipped behind the trees, the park filled with blankets, lawn chairs, and tailgate setups. The crisp air made hot cocoa the perfect companion, and the sound of kids laughing carried across the field.

When the Benbrook Fire Department arrived in a festively decorated engine, the excitement rose quickly. They led the countdown and lit the towering Benbrook Christmas tree, drawing cheers as the park glowed to life.

Moments later, the night sky erupted into a fireworks show that many compared to Disney. The colorful display stretched across Benbrook Lake and beyond, with residents on the city limits reporting they could see the bursts from their homes. The show lasted longer than previous years and left the crowd buzzing long after the finale.

Social media was filled with photos and videos from the night, but one stood out. Benbrook resident Thomas Langley captured the event from above with a drone, offering a sweeping view of the fireworks and the glowing Christmas tree. The footage quickly became a community favorite.

If you want your own holiday photo moment, the Benbrook Christmas tree is still lit and open to all. You can find it behind the Benbrook Community YMCA at 1899 Winscott Road, Benbrook, TX 76126.
