Benbrook Plans $1 Million Upgrade to Dutch Branch Park.

For generations, Dutch Branch Park has been the heart of Benbrook life.

With its duck pond, sports fields, walking trails, and beloved wooden playgrounds, Robot Park and Castle Park, the sprawling green space welcomes more than 800,000 visitors each year.

Families gather here for farmers’ markets, YMCA programs, Heritage Fest, Christmas tree lightings, fireworks, and everyday moments of play and connection.

Now, the city is preparing to invest more than $1 million over the next three years to enhance and preserve this community cornerstone. Planned upgrades include new playground equipment to replace aging wooden structures, improved lighting for the ball fields, updates to park facilities, and more accessible features designed for all children.

City officials say community input will guide many of these changes, with an open house scheduled for later this fall to share maps, renderings, and options for new playground designs. Residents will have a chance to weigh in on what features theyโ€™d like to see, from inclusive play spaces to potential throwbacks like a merry-go-round.

As Benbrook continues to grow, Dutch Branch Park remains its gathering placeโ€”a spot where the cityโ€™s past, present, and future come together in the open air.

Details on the open house and project timeline will be available soon at benbrook-tx.gov.
