Benbrook Opens Search for Next Trash and Recycling Service Contract.

The City of Benbrook has officially opened the bidding process for a company to handle the city’s future trash and recycling services.

City leaders announced this week that sealed proposals are now being accepted for solid waste and recycling services under Bid No. 26-001. The request invites waste management companies to submit plans for residential collection and recycling operations across the community.

Proposals are due by 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Benbrook City Hall, located at 911 Winscott Road. City officials said proposals submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.

While the process may sound technical, the outcome could eventually impact nearly every household in Benbrook. Contracts like these often shape collection schedules, recycling services, customer support, and long-term operational costs tied to city sanitation services.

A mandatory information session for interested vendors is scheduled for Thursday, June 4, at 2 p.m. at Benbrook City Hall. Proposal details will remain confidential until a contract is officially awarded by the City Council.

Residents who want to follow the process or review the proposal documents can find additional details on the City of Benbrook’s bid portal at the City of Benbrook Bids Page.

Questions regarding the proposal process must be submitted in writing to Assistant City Manager Eric Cox at ecox@benbrook-tx.gov.
