A once-empty corner inside Benbrook Public Library has found a new purpose, giving used books a new home while supporting the library along the way.
The Friends of Benbrook Library has opened a small pop-up bookshop near the library’s vending machine. Instead of fixed prices, visitors can choose a book and donate whatever amount they would like.
The selection changes by theme, with the current “Life & Learning” collection featuring biographies, current events and politics, health and wellness, and children’s materials.
Cash donations can be placed in the box beside the shelves, while card donations can be made at the library’s information desk.
The shop is open during regular library hours at 1065 Mercedes St. in Benbrook.
