Benbrook Honors Its Veterans With Wreaths and Remembrance.

Saturday morning began on a meaningful note at Benbrook Cemetery as the Benbrook Fire Department joined the Benbrook VFW and Auxiliary 10429 for the community’s first Wreaths Across America observance.

Volunteers carefully placed wreaths at the graves of 225 veterans laid to rest in Benbrook, pausing to reflect on lives of service and sacrifice. The quiet moments shared among firefighters, veterans, families, and neighbors turned the cemetery into a place of gratitude and remembrance.

The event also invited residents to take time afterward to walk the grounds, see the wreaths firsthand, and remember why these stories matter. In a fitting extension of the day, the new veterans’ statue at City Hall now stands unveiled as another lasting symbol of that respect.

Events like this remind Benbrook that honoring service is not limited to one day a year. It is something the community chooses to carry forward together.
