Benbrook student-athletes put in a strong showing at the 7/8-4A Area Track & Field Meet this past week, holding their own in a competitive field of schools from across the region.
The Benbrook girls team finished 7th overall with 28 points, while the boys placed 11th with 17 points. Western Hills also represented well—its girls team took 10th place with 11 points, and the boys team landed in 14th with 6 points.
Top contenders in the girls division included Decatur, Springtown, and Krum, while Decatur also led the charge in the boys division with a commanding 143-point finish.
The competition was tight, but both Benbrook and Western Hills saw standout individual performances that earned spots at the Region I-4A Meet in Lubbock, taking place April 18–19. The top four finishers in each event from this past week’s meet will now compete for a chance to advance to the state level.
