Benbrook’s Rolling Hills Elementary performed well at the recent FWISD Battle of the Books, held at TCU.
The event brought together top reading teams across the district for a fast-paced, book-focused competition celebrating reading and teamwork.
Students from multiple schools, including TCU Montgomery PreK-8 and North Hills Mount Elementary, took part, but the Bookworms came out on top with back-to-back wins. One standout, Anna Schlichter, took home the Ten Book Challenge title.
For those unfamiliar, Battle of the Books is more than just a quiz game. It’s a reading incentive program where students in grades 3 through 12 read a curated list of books and team up to answer detailed questions about them in a competitive setting.
Rolling Hills’ participation wasn’t just about the scores. It was about encouraging a love of books, building confidence, and showing the power of collaboration.
Shoutout to Ms. Hudson, the dedicated coaches, teachers, and supportive parents who helped get these Bobcats competition-ready.
Benbrook’s got readers, and they’re not slowing down anytime soon.
