Benbrook residents are turning up the pressure on their water bills—and not in a good way.
After one local spotted a $30 hike in their sewer fee for the March–April billing cycle, it unleashed a flood of concerns from others seeing similar surprises on their Benbrook Water Authority (BWA) statements.
From minor households racking up over $100 in charges, to bills remaining unchanged even when homes were vacant for weeks, locals are scratching their heads—and combing through months of statements. Some noticed sewer fees tripling without any bump in usage. Others say they’ve quit using dishwashers or sprinklers, only to see their bills climb anyway.
The billing confusion is only half the story. Residents also voiced growing frustration over water quality—citing strange smells, hard water residue, and skin irritation after showering. Even with investments in new water towers, many are questioning whether enough is being done to improve water service across the board.
So, what’s really flowing through the pipes—and the billing system? That’s what more residents want answered.
If you haven’t taken a close look at your recent utility bills, now’s the time. And if something looks off, don’t hesitate to contact BWA to raise your concerns. Your water bill shouldn’t be a mystery.
