Not every player who helps TCU win on Saturday gets his name called inside Amon G. Carter Stadium.
Episode 5 of Carter Boys: TCU’s Unsung Heroes turns the camera toward “The Reptiles,” TCU’s scout team players whose work during the week helps prepare the Horned Frogs’ starters for game day.
Among them is walk-on Easton Black, whose story follows his path through roster uncertainty and the daily work required to earn and keep a place within the program.
The episode then moves from the practice field to TCU’s home opener, where the Horned Frogs rolled past Grambling State, 63-7. Teon Parks added one of the afternoon’s biggest moments with a pick-six, while the TCU offense piled up points throughout.
But this episode spends time with the players whose contributions are easier to miss. They may spend the week pretending to be somebody else’s offense or defense, but when Saturday comes, part of TCU’s preparation belongs to them, too.
